Parent-Infant / Toddler Swimming Program

18 to 30 months

INTRODUCTION

This program by SPEEDISWIM is designed to serve as your baby’s first introduction to swim lessons.  We start the parent-infant swim class program at age 18  months. Many parents feel  babies are too young to actually learn to swim, so what's the point.  But there are so many advantages which come from splashing around and gliding through the water and also  your little ones would just love to be with other babies.

Compared to infants, toddlers have more developed motor skills, muscular development, and mental capacities. Swimming can be a team activity during swimming lessons, which can be a great way for toddlers to build up their confidence and their social skills while enjoying with other children.

Speediswim teachers will help the babies to get better acclimated to the water environment and learn some basic skills, including water entry, breath control and floating. Swimming, and being in the water, can be as fun and easy,  games and activities. A parent or trusted adult can join the child in our swim classes. Playing together in water is an excellent way for parents to bond with their children at this little age of infancy. Activity provided at this age helps to strengthen the infant’s body and develop good coordination skills.

Benefits of Parent-Infant swimming Program

Aids muscle development in infants

Swimming helps promote important muscle development and control in babies at a young age. Little ones will need to develop the muscles needed to hold their heads up, move their arms and legs, and work their core in coordination with the rest of their body. Working and strengthening all of their muscles effectively helps to make them stronger.

Swimming is also great for cardiovascular health and will help strengthen your little one’s heart, lungs, brain, and blood vessels.

Precious bonding time between parents and babies

Make swimming a precious bonding activity!! Swim time that involves a parent in the water promotes one-on-one bonding with their baby. During a lesson, it’s just you and your little one focused on each other, so it’s a wonderful way to spend quality time alone together.

Swimming can be one of the best loved family activities.

Improve cognitive functioning

Babies are born with over 70 neonatal reflexes. They have the ability to react to stimulation with motor responses. As most neonatal reflexes weaken during the first 6 months, babies need proper guidance to master new patterns of voluntary movement in order to explore the water in a safe and fun environment.

When swimming, babies moves their arms while kicking their legs. And they’re doing these actions in water, which means their brain is registering the tactile sensation of water plus its resistance. Swimming is also a unique social experience, which furthers its brain-boosting power.

Build Self Confidence

We know kids can be a bit worried about the water & new experiences. Being able to swim well is one of the greatest gifts that can be bestowed upon a child .  A high level of swimming and water safety skills are necessary for full and is enjoyable . This will help them to self confidence.

At speediswim, we focus on  helping kids learn how to be safer in and around the water.  Water can be fun, but you should be aware of potential hazards.

Swim Time is Fun

Swimming is a hugely enjoyable and relaxing experience. Water play is something that you can enjoy too. Bonding with your child in the water is a great way to share an exciting and valuable life experience. You’re also helping to create positive childhood memories they will always carry with them.
